If you are afraid that it will ferment over time, you can add two cents of Pengsha to each liang to dissolve it. The first time I chewed Polygala carefully, I felt that it tasted sour and actually had a taste of alum. Later, I found that taking up to two cents of this medicine powder could cause vomiting, and I realized that it does contain alum. Therefore, when I used this medicine in decoctions, I never used more than two cents, for fear that taking more might also cause vomiting.

It is specialized in the heart meridian, and the heart is the collection of blood. It is pungent and warm to promote circulation, which is suitable for invigorating the heart yang and improving people's wisdom. The main treatments in ancient and modern times are all to supplement the heart yang, but Li Binhu said that it is specialized in the kidney, which is a bit of a correction. Zhang Shiwan agrees with this, which is not a solid theory. "Ben Jing" treats cough and reverse, so bitter and warm, pungent and dispersing, cough and reverse caused by cold and drink will naturally be relieved. This Polygala has the function of eliminating phlegm and drink and stopping cough. "Bie Lu" removes the diaphragmatic qi under the heart, which is also the meaning. "Wai Tai" contains a prescription for chest pain and heart pain in "Gu Jin Lu Yan", which is quite in line with this purpose. "San Yin Fang" treats all carbuncle, which is the most suitable for warming and promoting blood circulation, but now the ulcer department does not know it, which is a pity to waste the good prescription. Yiheng is used for cold stagnation and qi stagnation, phlegm and dampness entering the collaterals, and causing carbuncle and swelling. Its effect is the fastest. However, it is not necessary to use it randomly for blood heat and damp heat poison. Polygala can promote the circulation of blood, and it is used as a tonic for the heart. It vibrates and flows, so that the heart yang is spread without stagnation. This is the true purpose of tonic. However, warming products must not be suitable for real heat. If it is used by mistake for the symptoms of hot phlegm covering the pericardium, it will only increase the flame. In addition, the so-called calming the soul and calming the palpitations is also to supplement the heart yang, so that the heart qi is full and the soul and dreams are calm, and the palpitations are calm. It is not comparable to nourishing fluids and calming the mind to calm the house. If the fright is caused by heat and the fire is disturbed, and it is also warmed up, the disadvantages are also equal to phlegm heat. There is also a saying that Polygala can connect the heart and kidney. If the heart yang is weak, the clear qi sinks, and the kidney qi is weak and cold and cannot rise, the warming effect of Polygala can raise the sinking and stimulate the kidney yang. This is the correct treatment. However, people do not pay attention to it. Whenever they encounter symptoms such as kidney yang not being stored, sexual dreams and loss of semen, they also say that this is due to the lack of communication between Kan and Li, and they must use Polygala to lead it, so that water and fire can connect, then the phase fire will become more floating, and the kidney will become more unable to control it.
