Because an in-person examination is not available during an online consultation, these photos provide supplementary information for a TCM assessment. The tongue photo helps the practitioner observe features such as tongue color, coating, texture, and moisture. Photos of the palms and ears may provide additional reference information about your overall condition.Photos alone are not sufficient for diagnosis and do not replace a medical history, physical examination, laboratory testing, or diagnostic imaging. They are reviewed together with your symptoms, history, and other information.

How should I take a clear tongue photo?

Accepted Answer

Please shoot in natural daylight, with filters, beauty effects, and flash off. Do not brush your tongue before shooting, and try to avoid drinking coffee, tea, juice, or eating foods that easily stain the tongue.Please take photos separately:A frontal photo of the tongue naturally protruding;The tongue is gently curled upwards to reveal a photo of the area beneath it.When taking the photo, keep the camera roughly parallel to your tongue and avoid sticking your tongue out too forcefully. The photo should be clear, without shadows, and show the entire surface of your tongue. It's best to take the photo before eating or drinking colored beverages.

How long after submitting the materials can I expect to receive a response?

Luyantang generally responds within 12 hours on business days and within 24 hours on weekends and holidays, based on U.S. Pacific Time. Complex cases or consultations requiring additional information may take longer.If you have not received a response within this timeframe, please check your spam or junk folder or contact us through one of the methods listed on the website.
