All kinds of heat are evil heat and damp heat. Jaundice, diarrhea, and dysentery are all diseases that are overcome by warm heat. If you break the root, all diseases will be cured. Bitter and cold can remove damp heat, so the small intestine is smooth and water is expelled by itself. The source is clear and the flow is clean. Blood stasis is caused by real heat in the blood, that is, heat enters the blood chamber, causing amenorrhea. When damp heat is eliminated, the nourishing qi will be clear and will recover by itself. Malignant sores and ulcers are caused by blood heat, which will remain and become carbuncles and ulcers; fire ulcers are caused by fire qi injuring blood, and cooling blood and removing heat can cure them. , then it will heal itself. "Bielu" says that for those who eliminate phlegm and heat, if the heat is in the chest, phlegm and fire will be generated, if it is in the lower abdomen, it will cause colic, and if the heat is in the children's abdomen, they will have abdominal pain. If the dampness and heat in the stomach are gone, the stomach will be at ease and the food will be digested. Drenching and bleeding are caused by heat in the yin. It is used to treat alternating cold and heat, and the evil is in the Shaoyang. The five types of stranguria are caused by dampness and heat prevailing. If the bitter, cold, clearing and souring qi prevails, the evil qi will dissipate by itself, which is to eliminate its root. "Scutellaria baicalensis is a bitter, cold, clearing and souring medicine. It is effective in eliminating heat evil, but it is not a tonic. It should be listed together with Coptis chinensis. Gardenia can reduce the fire in the upper part of the body, but without Scutellaria it cannot clear the head and eyes. ... Therefore, the Department of Prescriptions and Pulse uses it to clear the muscles and reduce fever, the Department of Sores and Ulcers uses it to detoxify and regenerate the muscles, the Department of Brightness uses it to dissipate heat and improve eyesight, and the Department of Gynecology uses it to stabilize pregnancy and regulate menstruation. Bupleurum is specialized in treating the alternating cold and heat of Shaoyang. Shaoyang is the pivot. Without Bupleurum, it cannot clear the inside and outside. Scutellaria is specialized in treating the steaming heat of Yangming. Yangming is in the middle. Without Scutellaria, it cannot open up the accumulation. One treats wind and wood evil, and the other treats dampness and earth accumulation. How can they be mixed up? Although Scutellaria is bitter and cold, it is a symptomatic drug after all. It is only suitable for those with body heat. If it is yin deficiency and latent heat, and the deficiency yang is moldy, can it be tried lightly? Its solid ones can also regulate the Chong channel and treat blood heat. The ancient prescription has a Yiwei Ziqin pill, which is the most effective for women with blood heat and excessive menstruation."
 "Ben Jing Shu Zheng" states: "Zhongjing used Scutellaria baicalensis in three ways. For heat accumulation in the qi, it is paired with Bupleurum chinense (Xiao Chaihu Decoction, Da Chaihu Decoction, Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang Decoction, Chaihu Guizhi Decoction); for heat accumulation in the blood, it is paired with Paeonia lactiflora (Guizhi Chaihu Decoction, Huangqin Decoction, Da Chaihu Decoction, Huanglian Ejiao Decoction, Biejia Jianwan, Dahuang Changchong Wan, Bentun Decoction, Wangbuliuxing Powder, Danggui Powder); for damp-heat blocking the middle, it is paired with Coptis chinensis (Banxia Xiexin Decoction, Gancao Xiexin Decoction, Sheng "Ginger Xiexin Decoction, Gegen Huangqin Huanglian Decoction, Ganjiang Huangqin Huanglian Renshen Decoction). Bupleurum can unblock the qi, but cannot relieve the heat of qi; Paeonia lactiflora can unblock the blood, but cannot clear the heat of blood; Coptis chinensis can treat the heat caused by dampness, but cannot treat the dampness caused by heat. It is like resolving a fight. If you only remove the offender, the anger that caused the fight will not be quelled, and the fight will never end. Therefore, Scutellaria baicalensis, in combination with Bupleurum, can clear the heat of qi, in combination with Paeonia lactiflora, can relieve the heat of blood, and in combination with Coptis chinensis, can resolve the dampness caused by heat."
