This substance was the only way to get rid of it. It also treated heat retention in the heart meridian, and astringent urination. Peeled Gardenia, simmered Rhubarb, Forsythia, and Licorice (roasted) were used in equal parts, ground into powder, and boiled in water for three qian to be taken orally. There was no harm."

This medicine tastes bitter and has a cold air, which can purge all excess fire, so it can treat the above symptoms." "Gardenia has a very bitter and cold nature. Bitterness and coldness damage the stomach and blood. People with weak spleen and stomach should avoid it, and people with blood deficiency and fever should avoid it.
