Zhang Yuansu: "For any pain caused by qi stabbing, use Zhi Ke. Look at which meridian it is and use the meridian-guiding medicine to guide it. Zhi Ke is also used to break up stagnant qi. It is used for those with high pain. However, it can damage the highest qi in the chest, so it can only be taken two or three times."

Wang Haogu: "Zhi Ke is used to treat high, while Zhi Shi is used to treat low. The high one is used to treat Qi, while the low one is used to treat blood. Therefore, Zhi Ke is used to treat diseases of the chest, diaphragm, skin and hair, while Shi is used to treat diseases of the heart, abdomen, spleen and stomach. They are similar. Zhu Gong's "The Book of Living People" says that to treat lumps, it is advisable to use Platycodon and Zhi Ke Decoction first. It is not used to treat lumps under the heart. If it is wrong to use it, Qi will be trapped and become lumps. Therefore, this is used first to prevent lumps. If this is used after lumps have formed, it will be too late. Not only will it fail to eliminate the lumps, but it will also damage the Qi in the chest. The word "first" is meaningful."

"Compendium of Materia Medica": "Zhi Shi and Zhi Ke have the same smell, flavor and function. There was no distinction in the past. Since the Wei and Jin Dynasties, the functions of Zhi Shi and Zhi Ke have been divided. Zhang Jiegu and Li Dongyuan have divided the theory of treating high and treating low. Generally speaking, their functions are to benefit Qi. When Qi goes down, phlegm and wheezing stop, when Qi moves, distension and swelling disappear, when Qi is unblocked, pain and stabbing stop, and when Qi is smooth, heaviness in the back is eliminated. Therefore, Zhi Shi is used to benefit the chest and diaphragm, and Zhi Ke is used to benefit the intestines and stomach. However, Zhang Zhongjing used Zhi Shi as the main medicine for treating chest obstruction and fullness. All prescriptions were used to treat blood, hemorrhoids, dysentery, large intestine obstruction, and tenesmus. Zhi Ke was also used for general use. Therefore, Zhi Shi is not only used to treat low, and Zhi Ke is not only used to treat high. From Feimen to Pomen, the lungs are in charge of the three. Jiao and Jiao are connected, and they are just one Qi, so the two substances can be separated, and there is no harm if they are not separated. "Du Ren Fang" contains a drink for thinning the fetus, and Zhang Gugu's "Huo Fa Ji Yao" changed it to take Zhishu pills every day to make the fetus thin and easy to give birth, which is called Shutai pills. However, Kou Zongshuang's "Yan Yi" said that if the fetus is strong, the child will be strong and easy to give birth. Taking Zhike medicine will make it weak, and the child will also be weak and difficult to raise. The so-called shrinking the fetus and making it easier to give birth is totally wrong. Thinking about it rationally, Kou's theory seems to be better. It may be suitable for those who have strong and stagnant Qi before pregnancy. It is said that in the eighth and ninth months of pregnancy, Zhike and Sugeng must be used to smooth the Qi. If there is no stagnation before pregnancy, there will be no deficiency after delivery. If the Qi is weak, it is totally inappropriate. "

"Ben Cao Jing Shu" states: "Zhi Ferment, the smell and taste of Zhi Shi are roughly the same as Zhi Shi. However, Zhi Shi is small in shape, its smell is complete, and its nature is strong, so it is good at reaching down; Zhi Ferment is large in shape, its smell is scattered, and its nature is slow, so it moves a little slower, so it can enter the chest, diaphragm, lung, and stomach and enter the large intestine. It is mainly used to treat wind itching and paralysis, to clear the joints, and to stop wind pain. The lungs are responsible for the skin and fur, and the stomach is responsible for the muscles. When wind, cold and dampness enter the two meridians, the skin will itch, or be painful, or numb. This medicine has the function of bitterness, purging, and dispersing, and can also lead all wind medicines into the two organs. Therefore, it is necessary to treat wind. Once the wind evil is dispersed, the joints will naturally be clear. It can treat cough due to fatigue and fatigue in the back and shoulders. It also refers to the stagnation of lung qi and cough due to the stagnation of lung qi when the wind and cold are stagnant in the upper part of the body. The "Classic" says: The bitter air of the lung goes up against the wind. , eat bitter food to drain it, and bitter taste of Citrus aurantium can drain the high qi, so it is the main one. Moreover, the lung and large intestine are exterior and interior. When wind evil enters the lung, it will enter the large intestine, and the wind and heat will fight each other and cause intestinal wind and blood. The bitter and cold qi that drains down will clear the blood heat and eliminate the wind. Its main functions are to disperse the phlegm stagnation in the chest and diaphragm, expel water, eliminate bloating and fullness, and calm the stomach, which are all the same as Citrus aurantium, but its qi is slightly slower. ""Nowadays, it is often used to treat women's fetal restlessness, or as a remedy for easy delivery in August or September. It is used at will, but it is not known that women's pregnancy depends entirely on qi and blood to nourish the fetus. If the qi and blood are sufficient, the fetus will be easy to deliver. Moreover, pregnant women in August and September are mentally sleepy, their limbs are weak, their appetite decreases, and they are short of breath. Isn't this a symptom of weakness, and why use this dissipating medicine?"

"Compendium of Materia Medica" states: "Fructus aurantii is the old and thin shell of Fructus aurantii. Since it is called Fructus aurantii, it must be used without the core. The shell and the core were not distinguished in ancient times, and their properties and uses were not much different. If it is used to treat chest and diaphragm obstruction, Fructus aurantii is slightly better than Fructus aurantii. However, how can Fructus aurantii cooperate with the pungent, warm and light orange peel and cinnamon twig to achieve the best effect? However, "Ben Jing" mainly treats strong wind in the skin, such as itching caused by sesame seeds, and removes cold and heat. Only Fructus aurantii with the core removed is suitable. Itching is caused by wind, and cold and heat are caused by numbness. In the skin, if Fructus aurantii is used to remove wind and numbness, it is easy to go inside with Fructus aurantii, and it is difficult to compete with Fructus aurantii. This is why Fructus aurantii is used to treat wind, itching and numbness in "Zheng Lei Ben Cao"."

Precautions for making Chinese herbal medicine:

    1. The medicine jar must be cleaned

When decocting Chinese medicine, the medicinal juice is concentrated due to evaporation of water, and a layer of medicinal scale often accumulates at the bottom and around the medicine pot. If the decocted medicine in the medicine pot is often changed, and the accumulated medicinal scale is not wiped off in time, the medicinal scale will dissolve when the new medicine is decocted, interfering with and reducing the efficacy of the medicine, and even delaying the treatment of the disease. Especially if highly toxic medicines or external medicines that cannot be eaten have been decocted before, it may cause poisoning.

In addition, if the Chinese medicine is not cleaned immediately after each decoction, the scale at the bottom of the medicine pot will become thicker and thicker, and it will easily burn when the medicine is re-decocted, thus losing its efficacy.

    2. Whether to cover the medicine

Generally speaking, in order to make Chinese medicine boil thoroughly, it is best to cover it. This is especially true for Chinese medicines containing volatile ingredients, such as mint, patchouli, and perilla leaves, and they should be boiled in a short time to prevent the active ingredients from volatilizing. For some expensive medicines, such as ginseng, deer antler, and wolfberry, the active ingredients should be fully released.

Some Chinese herbal medicines are light in weight and large in size, such as Centella asiatica, Prunella vulgaris, White tongcao, Loofah, Corn hair, etc., so they should not be decocted with the lid on, otherwise they will often overflow from the pot. You can decoct with the lid on and stir at any time.

    3. Fry thoroughly and squeeze dry

"Decoction thoroughly" means that the active ingredients of the medicine are fully released, which is the basic requirement for decoction. For medicines with tough texture and difficult to release active ingredients at once, only by decoction separately, decocting first, decocting for a long time, etc. can the medicine juice be thickened and the efficacy be fully exerted. Medicines with loose texture and light and fragrant nature do not need to be decocted for too long; but herbs with light texture and large body should be stirred frequently to facilitate decoction.
